Oliver brought home two dozen unbroken eggs today. I never thought I would be so excited to have eggs before moving here. We ran out on Sunday, so we had to wait until the barge got here. As long as the weather is cooperating, it comes every Thursday, then they restock the store both Friday and Saturday. Going without really makes you appreciate what you have. It's a lesson I hope I take with me after we leave here.
I still remember finding a frozen juice that Hubby & I loved. I was buying it every other day (still in tlf @ that point) but I went in one day & it wasn't there. The stocker told me that it could be months before they would be in again. It was 6 months actually. But we could still go downtown we just hadn't up to that point! No car.
I think I would go nuts w/o being able to get eggs on a regular basis though. You are awesome!
Running out of - or being low on - eggs and butter makes me so nervous. I get all anxious and worried! I guess I would have to get over that if I lived in a place like you all!!
After three years of shore duty in the Bahamas, we've rejoined submarine life in the United States. I'm not sure what this next chapter will bring, but hopefully our blood will thicken enough to stand the winters!
3 sonar pings:
I have a kick butt chocolate chip recipe without eggs and a muffin one, and biscuits, and pancakes... let me know if you ever need them.
