I just read your post of Mormon Mommy Blogs and was touched because having been a submariner's wife for 10 years, we are facing the same decision. I feel torn because I am proud of what he does and know that all these challenges come with rich blessings and rewards, just like you said. But when we take into consideration the fact that he doesn't get to go to church for 6 months, or be with his daughters, it seems to tip the scale with more force. I take comfort in the fact though that we have the gospel and that decision and the support for that decision will never have to be our alone. Thanks for your post!! And a shore duty in the Bahamas? Sign us up for that one!!
Such a wonderful post! It really helps others to see what you guys have gone through & military couples in general go through. Wonderful, wonderful job!
Emma Jo, that 10 year mark is going to be the same for us, too. What a tough decision! Best of luck to you in making it, too!
I'm not sure how often I'll be posting. I am required to send in something at least once a month, then it's up to them how often my stuff is on the blog. I know there is another post scheduled, but once again am not sure when it will show up. Thank you all for reading! It makes feel more like an actual author, my one goal in life. Now, if only I could find a way to make it pay without turning my own blog into an advertising mahem...
After three years of shore duty in the Bahamas, we've rejoined submarine life in the United States. I'm not sure what this next chapter will bring, but hopefully our blood will thicken enough to stand the winters!
